A Treasure Chest of Wisdom TwinSpace: http://twinspace.etwinning.net/2360 What is wisdom? Why is so vital to teach wisdom to children? Many say that wisdom only comes with age but we think that it’s possible to help young students live with wisdom far before they get old and gray. Education is not only the acquisition of knowledge, it needs to help make students wiser and teach them how to deal with the challenges that they face. This project aims to teach children how to think and act wisely; how to learn from your mistakes and from others’ mistakes and how to be able to apply these lessons in their lives and prevent the same mistakes. Although our students are small, we think that project activities integrated in our curriculum can bring about personal change in young people and influence their behavior. The wisdom of each nation is embodied in myths, legends, folk tales, riddles, proverbs and sayings. That’s why we are going to study and discuss in our mother tongue one national legend( fable, myth, folk tale or fairy tale) of each partner. We are going to create an e – book and pdf book with these legends, illustrated by the students. Students will be encouraged to collect a great number of proverbs and sayings through the support of their teachers, parents and relatives. They will have the opportunity to ask elderly about their meaning and the wise massage they imply. We are going to integrate students with SEN, different ethnic groups in the project activities. At the end of our project students will be familiar with some European legends, tales, proverbs and will have a big treasure chest of European wisdom.
